Vestibular Disorders

Studies indicate that nearly half of all Americans have experienced balance problems at some point in their lives. The human body maintains balance through the complex interaction of three systems: the vestibular system located in the inner ear, the visual system, and the somatosensory system, which keeps you aware of the location of your body parts in space.  Any number of conditions can cause vestibular problems and result in vertigo, staggering, dizziness, falls, and loss of focus.  Your therapist can use highly-specific exercises to retrain your inner ear, desensitize you to motion, relocate displaced crystals, and restore your proprioception.
